His entire part is a funny list of misfortunes he wishes upon the gold digger. One of my favorite aspects besides that is Chance the Rapper’s inclusion in the song. The two elements complemented each other very well and that relationship between the frustrated lyrics and upbeat tempo and piano makes this song very memorable. The contrast works so well, keeping a light attitude toward his problems with women. I think this all interplayed perfectly and Action Bronson had a nice flow to go over it. The upbeat piano backdrop gives a nice and upbeat mood to a song that is lyrically about negative aspects. The theme seems to be a reoccurring one among hip hop artists who obtain fame and success. Lyrics like “I paid for that crib I never stepped foot in, And now somebody else is eating all the pudding” and “So many women wanna call me baby, And you wonder why the fuck that I ain’t call you lately” make this meaning clearer. The song itself was about the frustrations of the artist and gold digging women. To begin, the hook was nice and it was cool to hear Action Bronson sing in such a smoky tone while remaining catchy. Action Bronson’s Baby Blue is my favorite track from his recent work.
